Tobias Sikosek Ph.D.

VP Data Science

Dr. Tobias Sikosek is the Vice President of Data Science at Hummingbird Diagnostics GmbH and specializes in applying the use of machine learning for RNA data analyses and biomarker discovery. His expertise includes computational biology and computer simulations, as well as applying and developing machine learning solutions in drug discovery and biomolecular research. He is also an experienced Python and Java programmer.

Prior to joining Hummingbird, Tobias developed his machine learning and artificial intelligence expertise working on various projects related to drug discovery and oncology at GlaxoSmithKline. Before joining GSK, his academic career focused on the simulation of molecular evolutionary processes of gene regulatory networks, protein folding and plant microRNAs.

Tobias earned his Ph.D. in bioinformatics and biophysics at the University of Muenster, where he won the annual thesis award. He completed his postdoctoral studies at the University of Toronto.
